Well my original post dropped off and I don"t have resolution yet.
I am restoring my 55 960. I will paint it with PPG DCC single stage acrylic urethane. I have determined that 70075 vermillion red is correct. What I haven"t been able to determine is the correct code for the gray so that it can be mixed in DCC. I may have to buy another brand of paint just so I can spray out a swatch card, so the paint store can match and mix it in DCC. So now I have two questions:
1. What is the correct gray for my 55? Is it the light gray (Tisco TP330 as noted on this site?)?If not, then what is correct?
2. If no one has the code, does anyone have a swatch card that they sprayed out that I can use to match it? Of course I will pay the postage and return if needed. I would then be happy to supply anyone with the mix formula for the gray in DCC.
Thank you,
Brad_bb

brad, looks like no one wants this one. The Tisco TP-330LF-QT/GAL/SP light gray didn't appear until the blue paint. The TP-240 is a medium gray and is a duplicate of the M1J-957-SE_ Ford gray that appeared with the M1J-956-SE_ Ford red that replaced the vermillion, and first appeared in 1958. However, the gray didn't change like the red. I have a 1961 861 that I used PPG on the red and gray, I know the red is different, but the gray will be close. I'll look when I get home for the empty can.
