Ford 860 fuel leek

My 1955 860 has a fuel leak where the control valve mates with the fuel tank. I have replaced the O ring with one from the hardware store. I think the thickness of the of the ring was too thin. Is there a special Oring that I am not using? Or is there ther something in to two bolts that are holding it to the fuel tank?

Any Thoughts out there?

MN:

I recommend that you use the CNH O-Ring rather than a substitute. This O-Ring is quite thin, and use of an O-Ring that is too thick can result in deformation of either the valve flange or, worse yet, the fuel tank if the bolts are tightened too much. The O-Ring is available from CNH.

Andy:

CNH is Case-New Holland, i.e., your local Ford tractor dealer. Case-International and New Holland merged several years ago and the new company is called Case-New Holland. Sorry about the shorthand.
