After using last weekend the ignition key was left in the "on" position for a week. Battery appears dead. Jumped with truck and nothing. Even the fuel gauge doesn't show anything. Could this have fried the points? Bad ground when hooking up jumper cables? Storms moving in, will look at tomorrow. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Yep.. probbaly welded or burnt points.. if this was a 12v conversion.. could have burnt up the ballast resistor, and for that long of a period.. may have cooke dthe oil out of the coil.. thought he side mounts are pretty robust.

Good chance you fried the points. I would check the connections they could have corrosion.
