Can anybody send me a drawing of how to wire the back light and the red warning light for the Ford 5000. I found 2 wires one was a thicker gauge than the other. They were disconnected near the fender. I attached the two matching the size. I found out that if I just attach the thicker one the back switch activates the back light and the red light stays on ,both when I pull the light switch up front.
When I attach the smaller wire the lights stay on no matter what. I can't turn them off.
Can anybody draw me a picture of how their ford 5000 is wired in back? Thanks.

I wired one a utlity light onto my CAse 430 and had the same problem. So Ididn't use the seocnd wire, went and bought 14 gauge wire and wired it from the switch. The guys from where I bought it from had installed a new switch and when I connected the light, it by assed the switch, so it took me about 3 hours of fooling around with it before I realized the guy shad connected the switch worng. Go figure that the people that are suppose to know what they are doing screwed up and it wasn't my fault. Needless to say, I cut the small wire up under the hood, used the thicker wire as my live and then grounded the light to the tractor, not fender as it would not gound there. Paul

Hmm.. my 5000 had an allied signal blinker assembly on the fender.. it had it's own switch, and blinker module in the housing.

Since I was replacing my main headlamp switch and my fender mounted work lamp, I simply wired my headlamp first position to a wire that feeds the worklamp and the allied blinker. They both have their own switch, so I can have blinker or blinker and lamp. 2nd position on my headlamp switch turned the headlamps on.

I'm sure that is not eom wireing.. however.. it suited my needs fine. A word of advice. 30+ yaer old rusty sheet metal doesn't make a good ground. make sure your lamps have a great ground.. either attach extra straps to the fender, or run a seperate ground wire in your loom.. same for the headlamps..
