I am changing the fluid and filter in my recently acquired 5000 SOS. How do you get all of the old fluid out? I've drained the sump but I know there's still fluid in the radiator heat exchanger and maybe in the servos and clutches. Any sure fire methods to get all of the old fluid out?

Larry NCKS- I'd like to have your e-mail address and I promise not to send any spam. My e-mail is open.

By now you've gotten my email and I've received yours and replied to it. Did you get the Atchison tractor? Thanks for that tip, but it was out of my league at spring planting time. This site would not allow my responses last night, so this is basically just a test.

No, I didn't bid on the Atchison 5000. I got mine locally (Central Texas).

I've been having a lot of trouble the past few days getting on this site. It's been unavailable quite often.

What did the oil you draind look like. if it looked ok.. i wouldn't worry about the ? couple of quarts? of oil left over. If it was milkshakey.. i think i would sacrafice another cheap walmart pail of UTF thru it as a 'flush' then refill and change filter. The SOS as i understand it is more finicky about tranny oil than most others. Also.. you are on the right track by contacting Larry... him and a few others here are the stalwart 'keepers of the faith' concerning the much maligned SOS tranny.

Also.. post some pics of that beast. I love the 5000 series.. even if it does have an SOS tranny.. would love to see some pics!

Is that a diesel?

I notice there is no air cleaner top hat either...

Any evidence that the hood had a 'good' stitch job covering the hole in the tin?

Would love to see more pics.. and find out the neat differences.

What year? and what is the 'code' on the bellhousing.

It run good? Get a decent deal on it? Where did you find it. It looks like a decent machine. Has 'petal' style rear rims as far as i can tell.
