What is the difference between a JUBILEE and a NAA? I bought what I think is a JUBILEE. How can I be certain it is a JUBILEE? Where is the serial number located so I can check it out?

SounDguy,
I looked for an hour last night for the serial number and could not find it. Does the engine have to be stripped down before the number can be seen. Is it under something like the manifold, generator, water pump etc etc? I hate to sound so dumb but I am new to this group.....I love my NAA.

Thanks in advance for the help.

All jubilee are NAA.. all NAA are not jubilee.

The NAA was the model year 53 and 54 tractor. 1953 was the 50th aniversery for ford.. thus the 53 year model NAA was dubbed the jubilee. It had a different nose/hood plate. Also.. the 53's had a tranny input shaft bushing as opposed to a bearing, I believe.

The early 53's will have the sn stamped on the block at the upper left front of the engine, near the manifold. later models have the sn on a boss aft of the starter bellhousing. You will notice that both sn's for the 3 and 54 start with "NAA".

Is there a Jubliee club like the 8N club? The 8N club has sites showing some very nice step-by-step re-builds, shows etc etc. Are Jubliees excluded from that club?

A fellow named Dan who posts here occasionally has a website with extensive photos of his NAA restoration. Maybe he will see this and post a link.

Many of the early fords clubs feature the "N" series, which usually includes the 'NAA'.. which a jubilee is. This distinguishes them from the 3 digit / 4 digit hundred / thousand series. When N series was in production.. there was only 1 tractor type made at a time.. when hundred series hit.. you had many tractor models out of a couple series in production at the same time.

Soundguy, do you happen to know how many Jubilees got the s/n on the front left of the engine block? I ask because I ran across a very original Jubilee over the weekend with s/n 12683 on the block. It is owned by the son of the original owner and has not been touched since his dad took it home from the dealer.
