Mounting a Ford 703 Loader on a Ford 861

I acquired a 703 loader to put on my 861. There is a large steel plate (shaped kind of like an inverted "T") that has 2 bushings welded into it for 1" bolts from the loader frame to pass through. There are 3 holes drilled in the plate for a pump mounting bracket to bolt to. Where does this plate bolt to the tractor? It looks like it might mount to the front axle support but there are no holes in the axle support for bolts. There are 2 holes in the plate for bolts. Do I need to drill holes or does it go somewhere else?

I also have two 1" diameter bars about a foot long that are threaded on each end with a 3/4" coarse thread. What are these for?

I did not get a pump drive shaft or crankshaft hub with the loader. Does anyone have spares they want to sell? Does anyone have a manual for this loader to sell?

I think that Walt's tractor has the shaft and crank hubs. Other ford places should too. Heck, (slapping forehead), did you try this site?

Yes, I checked here and Walt's. What happened to the photos of the parts that used to be on Walt's?

Apparently the flex coupling on the input shaft of my pump is not original. Instead of a shaft with a woodruff key in the end, the shaft I need will have two "ears" on the pump end and each of these "ears" will have a hole for a 1/4" bolt to connect to the flex coupling. I regret that I failed to mention that in my original post.

I believe I have all the old manuals on Ford loaders and if you haven't already found one may have an extra.
As I recall the two rods fit at the bottom of that flat plate and to the two holes at the back of the saddle (front axle support).

awhtx,

I bought a 703 loader for my 861 too. I got the original manual with it but you can get a reproduction of the manual. I"ll copy a page or two depicting the mounting hardware and post them.

Matt, I sure could use a picture of that too. Just the mount bracket right under the crank pulley. Or does it hook to the radiator mount?

awhtx,

I went and copied the whole manual, 20 pages including the front and back covers. One catch is it's about 93 meg's and in pdf format. I'll try to reduce the size.

Matt, could you possibly email the entire PDF to the below addresses? I have been looking for one for my loader too.

Thanks,
Mark

MarkinWI,

I'll give it a try but it will be late at night as I have a dial-up connection and 93 megs will take some time to send.

Matt
