My Ford 5000 has steel power steering lines or tubes that run between the steering column and the pump. there is supposted to be two clamps, one up high and one down at the pump that keep the lines seperated. Probably from vibrations and knocking against eachother. That are they made of, rubber? It"s hard to tell from the parts manual. The part numbers are cc7nn3e506b and c7nn3n573b. If anybody could send me a picture of them it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks. I have the clamps. The parts book doesn't say exactly where they go. I put the front one about 6 inches up. And the back one has a hole in it like a screw is supposed to go on it. I tried the bolt there but it's a ut bolt ( probably a replacement so I don't know what is supposed to be there) and it doesn't fit the hole. Any suggestions?

They are made from hard plastic. They simply snap in place over the line. Seems to me they're only a couple bucks each at most. Be aware that if they are not in place, the lines will eventually break at the flares on one end or the other. If the clips are there, the lines will last untill a hole wears through them. If you need to make new lines, go to the local NAPA or another tubing supplier, get the correct size steel tubing, and bend a line up to fit, double flare each end, install, with the clips, and you're good to go. Cheaper than rubber hose too, and 1/4 as bulky. HTH.

The best thing I did was change the steel lines to regular hydraulic lines. A machine shop made my lines after the end started leaking, and I priced a new set of the steel lines.
