Ford 2000 Plug/Wire problem

I have a Ford 2000 3 cyl gas. Gave it a tune up last winter in the process of replacing the starter (it had been a pesky/slow starter for years) - new plugs, points, rotor, cap. Now it runs well, but every so often, primarily under load (using a brush hog), 2 of the spark plug wires pop off of the plugs (almost always the same 2, but at times all 3 come off) - I"ve tugged on them when the tractor is off and its not like they are loose - I did not replace the wires as part of the tuneup, so they came with the tractor (and may be originals for all I know)

thanks

bosox, sounds like you are not sealing the end of the spark plug and getting compression leak at the plug base. Remove the plugs and clean out the plug hole good. If you need new wires, we have jewellco@scrtc.com.....Kelly.
