Thanks to all for the help, finished off the rewiring job, popped in the new switch and coil, hit the switch and choke, purred like a kitten, after sitting for close to 3 years. Little black smoke for 30 seconds or so.
The relay for starter buzzes when I hit the pushbutton on dashboard, normal? or do I have a 12 volt relay? Or is my 4 year old battery getting low? Ammeter is showing negative charge, can they be wired backwards?

Did a complete rewire, Thanks for info, still no spark, wired around "new" switch, still spark in old girl. New switch was defective. Went to Canadian Tire, got one that works fine and looks like original. It is still 6V , but coil is old, will install new coil. Could switch it over to a 12 voly system, but like idea of keeping it Original ,ran 60+ years that way, few more can't hurt, Thanks again----Bill

Have you figured it out, yet?

Third Party Image

If it's "as original", and hasn't been converted to 12-Volts, or been changed to a generator with a voltage regulator, this diagram should be what you are looking for.
