Gimme a break! Is everybody in the computer world so sensitive that some poor bloke who may not know his keyboard or know how to type as well as others is ostrasized because of the caps lock is on? Do you think he is yelling at his keyboard at you? Does the english language sound different in caps lock than in lower case? I have seen some petty stuff but this is crazy. If you don't like his typing don't answer him. It is supposed to be a board to help people, not to withold answers because of a typing error.

Rich, I am sorry if I talked out of turn. I see the time of the posts are close, too. I wasn't aware(stupid?)that people would want to screw with people who give their time and free info. Next time I will keep my trap shut and just go back to reading. I have gotten invaluble help from this board and I would hate to alienate anybody. (My apologies to Larry)

Gees, turn off the cap locks. I have more info that would help you identify what you have, but I'm not willing to share it with someone who has to yell to get our attention!

Larry, I have a friend that sends everything in caps to me. I scolded him about it, he replied that his eyesight was not as good as it used to be. So therefdore he uses the caps so he can see it.

Your tractor actually has a middle number - it is not an 800 really, but an 860, 850, 840, 820, or some such. Not sure the 800 series had all of those.....

Anyhow the 860 probably has the best options, with the live pto. Lower numbers means less features.

So, which 800 do you have?

YOU HAVE A FINE TRACTOR IN THE FORD 800 SERIES. IF IT IS A GASBURNER IT SHOULD DEVELOP AROUND 45-48 PTO HORSEPOWER. I HAVEOPERATED A COUPLE OF FORD 860'S AND FIND THEM TO BE MY FAVORITE OF ALL THE "GREY AND REDS". THEY ARE PERHAPS THE MOST POWERFUL TRACTOR IN RATIO TO THEIR SIZE AND WEIGHT OF ANYTHING EVER PRODUCED ON A WIDE PRODUCTION BASIS. ONCE YOU GET THIS TRACTOR IN A-ONE SHAPE, YOU WILL HAVE A REAL "GEM".

I want to thank you Mr Bob for your reply the info you gave will get me off to a good start. I am glad to see that not everybody is a critic I thought this site would be a good place to get some good info on tractors but some people must think you have to be a computer expert to ask question I guess I am more interested in my tractor than my typeing skills.

Mr. bob,

I think it's pretty normal for a guy to talk to himself occasionally - we probably all do it. But when one starts answering himself, well, maybe it's time to seek a little help.

Good luck to both of you.

Tom,
I think he was trying to reply to TIM62's post requesting HP on 800 series. I also thought it was strange until I looked back at the Forum.
