I recently bought a Ford 660 and would like to find out some information on the tractor. It does not have any decals on the hood to indicate the series name. Would it have originally had Ford 600 on the hood..... or Ford 660? Was this tractor actually called a 660.....or just referred to as a 600? Any information would be appreciated....

Look on the left side top of the bellhousing, just to the rear of the starter. The exact model #, qns serial # will be STAMPED there.

The emblem is missing on the front...so I am guessing it would have just said 600..... ..not 660....correct?

That would be a 600 series and the model you have is the 660. Made from 1955-1957. In 1958 they came out with the 601 series.

I can help with a little information as my knowledge is limited compared to most folks on this board.
From what I know your tractor is in the 600 series of tractors. It will have a 134 cubic inch engine. A 660 will have a double clutch giving it live PTO, and a 5 speed tranny. You should have a 600 emblem on the front of the hood. I don't recall where the serial/ID numbers are but it should start or have 660 in the number string. There are other variations in the series, 650, 640 and others. This is where my knowledge ends.
