I’m pondering over a 801 PM and I could really use some advise. The tin is almost perfect, power steering, everything works.
No rust anywhere. Problem is: rear tires shot, carb is shot, motor is knocking pretty bad.
The price is $2300 here in Northern Calif.

Would I be better off spending more and getting a tractor that’s mechanically sound?

New rear tires will be around $500, rebuilt carb $175 give or take a little. Engine rebuild around $750 if you do the work your self and run into not major problem, but if you find problems then it could go up to around $2000. If you have some one else do it then your looking at $2500-4000 to rebuild the engine. And all thats for a tractor that in good running shape is worth around $3000-5000 depend on looks etc. That tractor sound like it should be priced around $500 tops

Thanks Old, I think I needed someone to slap some sense into me. Dang, it sure is a pretty looking tractor though.
