I was looking for a used tractor approx. 40 hp with live pto and came across a Model 540. It looked very similar to a 3000. It is 3cyl. diesel. It has 4 forward speeds with high-low aux. trans.
What is the approx. age of this tractor and is it safe to assume it could be a good reliable unit such as a 3000?
Also, what is a fair price for this with good rubber.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Well if its a 540 not a 541 then it was made between 1955-1957, then in 1958 they came out with the 01 series tractors. HP is around 31 by the way as per my NEB test list

Old, when he said 3 cylender an looks like a 3000 (541 don't look like a 3000 to me), do ya recon this feller has found hisself a Long or a Farmtrac?
Nothin else makes sense to me.
