Ref. 1970 ford 4000 utility tractor.
I am repairing my new tractor and need to replace
the tachometer cable. It has broken off long ago.
Where does it attach to the engine? I have a 512 loader on it, which limits my view.

If it has the oem genny.. that was likely the tach connection. if it has been changed out to an alternator, they may have went cheap and got the alt kit with no tach drive. Aux tack drive may have been located under the oil filter. Least it was on the larger thousand series units.

I was wondering the same thing, if I replace
my oem gen and get a new alternator, what size should I get for a Ford 3500 and how do I re-connect the tach cable? is there an alternator that has the tach cable connection on the back of it like my oem genny?

Thanks
