I wanted to replace a leaking seal on the pto. When I tried to remove the PTO shaft I notice that the PTO lever would move....WELL I never did replace the PTO seal(small leak) because I did not have the right tools....So I put it back together... NOW when I start to bush hog the PTO kicks out... I took the side plate off where the PTO lever is an made sure it was in the right place. 3 times. ..Tried it again and it stills kicks out.. WORK FINE BEFORE I MESSED WITH IT...What do I need to do too fix it? Thanks Ben. I could get one of my 15 JOHN DEERE'S and bush hog the lot but they are to tall... This Ford is perfect for this job..

make sure the shaft doesnt move.. otherwise you did not put the snap-ring back in place on the rear bearing and seal assembly... and that will cause the pto to disengage evertime you put forward pressure on it... like when you turn or raise it up and down.... grab the shaft and pull and push on it.. if it moves more than 1/16 of an inch... you will need to find out why.....
