Anthony: Like other posters have said, 6xx parts are interchangeable with 8xx parts and many are visually identical from the outside. This problem is most annoying when trying to visually distinguish the engines. That said, the obvious visual differences between the 6xx and 8xx series tractors aside from emblems and decals follow: The fuel tank is larger on the 8xx series resulting in a hood that sits higher. The steering wheel is just above the dash on the 8xx wheras there is abour 2" of steering coulum visable on the 6xx. The differential is viaually larger on the 8xx series. The rear rims and tires are wider on the 8xx series. The carburetor, air filter, and exhaust is larger on the 8x1 series. Note: the 8x0 series uses the same size carburetor and air filter as the 6xx series. As you know, parts are interchangeable and there are tractors out there that have been assembled from parts from both series. If you cannot determine if the tractor has a 172 CI engine, attach a 6 foot bush hog and head for some heavy grass. If you can pull it in third gear it is not a 134. Dean
