Here is that 711 loader i saw yesterday. I went back and rescued it today. I showed up with cash and a trailer and then made a fair counter offer to the sales price. The owner had it chained to a loader loading it a few moments later.

The bucket needs a new floor welded in.. or at least a patching.. otherwise she's good. Only has 1 of trhe 3 mount brackets i need.. but i can make those if needed.. or find them ( the fun part! ).

I shouldn't have sent you that pamphlet describing the differences between 711 and 722.
It was easier before when we all thought 711 was trip bucket and 722 hyd bucket. I would go back to that if you want to since we are confusing EVERYONE now.
Read my post from the other day and the one above.
Measure the box!!!
That will tell you what model tractor it came off of.
I have a true 722 with the hyd stand pipe and controls. But I am running it off the dual remotes on my 3 cyl 2000.
Much as I like the cool factor of my one armed bandit I've been thinking about getting a bigger loader.
I bought that 3400 to part out with the heavy front end and PS and am thinking it would handle something heavier. Put the stout 3400 front end on my 2000
If I could get out of the 722 what I have in it I might make the change.

These loaders seem a tad rare.. you may want to keep it. then again.. if it's in the way, it's of no use either.

Anyone ever seen an offset model ford.. or a trike with a 1-arm loader on it?

( I've sene an IH cub with a 1-arm loader.. neat looking.. )

I've seen the several 711's on 900's. I've got a few pictures from the web if you're interested. My original loader originally came with row crop brackets, and I traded them with someone from this site for some 800 brackets. I personally wouldn't want a lopsided loader on a tall, narrow tractor, but to each his own.

Now i'm in the delima of decideing if I want to get a hundred series, or a 4cyl/3 cyl thousand series.. I need to decide that first.. so i can find the correct bracket set.

Another factor to consider is hyd power. If I go with a hy=undred series.. i need to track down the remote valve ont he hyd top cover that gives me a sa and da spool.. I hear they can be pricey.

I guess another option is the same for a thousand series.. or find a thousand series with an existing remote.. and use it to power a couple of spools?? decisions.. decisions.

any advice?

What's cheaper. the top cover valves for the hundred or thousand series?

thanks

Isn"t it a 722 when it has the much rarer hydraulic bucket?

The 'usual' setup you see is the 722 with a hyd bucket, and a 711 with a trip bucket.. however.. according to the manuals I have.. both bucket options were available for the 711 and 722. The actual determining feature is the bottom loader support. On the 722, the lower support frame is also the hyd sump, and it has a couple tapped ports.. the lines would have then run to the small crank driven pump, and to a set of spools on the upright loader frame... making it a self contained unit. the 711 relied on external hyds, like from a remote on the tractor.. and the lower frame was not setup to work like a sump.

My 660 is setup like it is a 711 loader. That is, the oem 722 spool valve on the upright support is gone ( bracket is there! ), and the loader is using remote valves on my tractor to power it. However.. inspection of my lower support reveals it is the unit that had the sump, as my ports have plugs in them.

The spare i bought is a 711.. it has no bracket where the oem spools went.. and it does not have provisions for the internal sump.

Now I just have to repair the bucket, fabricate or locate the side and front bracket ( I have the lower one ), and then locate a 'preferably' 8xx/4000 4 cyl gas job to mount it to!

 711 or 722? in reply to souNdguy, 11-24-2006 12:19:28
I thought 711 was the trip lever dump and 722 was the hydraulic dump. Do I have them backwards?

Should have taken a bigger trailor and picked up a few more of the loaders he had. I know right now I wish I had about 5 loaders so I could sell a few tractors LOL

Unfortunately, I had way more trailer space than money to buy trailers. I measured up my 722 and decided it would fit the small trailer and just went with that one... That way i wouldn't be tempted to spend the mortgage money!
