My 800 is leaking motor oil in to the hyd pump some way it is over flowing the diff. housing. How can this be?I pull the dip stick and black oil runs out smells like motor oil.Motor uses some oil about one qt. per hour, not burning it.Not leaking it any place else. What do I do to fix it?Thank you for any help.

You should check each of your sumps, trans, hyd, and your diff. There is also a inspection plate under your trans, up front with four bolts. Go ahead and remove it, could be interesting what comes out. Your trans came with 90 wt. oil in it and could be migrating to your hyd sump. Which would smell. The pump is not causing your problem.. If the pump seal goes bad it will suck air first and there is not enough oil flow up there to cause you to use 1 qt. per hr.

I guess I was not clear.I am sorry. The dip stick an the side of the tractor under my left leg,is over flowing with black engine oil.It keeps making oil there, and losing oil out of the engine. No oil dripping out of trany housing weep hole,or any place else.

Tex, replace the hyd pump shaft seal. The pump is driven off a gear on back of camshaft which has engine oil around it.

Yep, didn't think about that one, didn't think the pump would pull suction from the engine oil area though, but the only thing that makes sense.

You can't really get motor oil into your diffential housing or even your transmission. You would be seeing engine oil draining from the clutch area at the cotter pin located in the bottom of the tranny housing where the clutch resides. This would indicate an engine rear seal failure.
Now you can get oil interchanging between the tranny, hydraulic and diff housing, if the seals are bad. Now are you sure that engine oil isn't running down the bottom of the tractor from the tranny area to the back of the tractor?
