I am rebuilding the front end on my 801 gas. The thrust bearings I ordered are part # A-CONN3123B.
These bearings won't fit in my spindle housing. The bearing DIA. is about .100 inch to big. Does anyone know what part # I need to order?
Thanks

It would be my guess that the top thin shell of the old brg is still up in the housing.

probably common - when I rebuilt my front end a couple years ago, the bearing had been so mashed up (841 with a loader) that pieces of it (the internal race of the bearing I think) was indistiquishable from the steel of the spindle housing. I could not tell them apart till I cleaned the grease off and started digging with a chisel - I wasn't sure if I was wrecking something till the race came out.

That was it. They blended really good.
Thanks

Since no one has replied yet I will give this a shot. My master parts book covers models from 53-59, and lists 2 different spindle pin thrust bearings. One is part# NCA-3123-A, for all except Heavy Duty from 53 on. The other is Refrence # 3123, part# 312631, Heavy Duty, except NAA, from 7-58 on. My guess is you have the heavy duty one.
HTH.

I looked up your front end and the part # you have is the correct part for both the power steering and manual front end as they are the same.
Is the bearing to big in the OD or ID, maybe there is some wear on which ever is the problem, the spindle or the bearing housing. The old one could have been locked up and spinning in place for a long time? Don't know but the part # you have is correct.

The bearing fits over the spindle as it should. The outer DIA. will not fit the housing.
All input is appreciated.
