Had a problem this morning with my 841D. I was pulling a load of tin for a new pole barn and the thing kept increasing rpms without me touching the throttle. This is the first time this has happened to me so it's worrisome. Did have quite a load on it and it was South Georgia cold. Any ideas what could cause this?

I had an 841D that didn't do that but the linkage was funky, in that I had to play around with the throttle sometimes to get engine response - it wasn't always a direct relationship. I'd take a close look at your linkage. Funky linkage combined the grade and the load may have been enough to cause that problem.

Your tractor has a RoosaMaster injector pump and they are notorious for the governor ring going bad. The ring is made of some sort of plastic that deteriorates and then the governor will no longer function.
If you will do a keyword search in the archives of the Ford Forum on "roosamaster" and also on "roosa master" you will get hundreds of hits.
