Snow blade attachment?

Given the season and the fact that my 1955 Ford 960 restoration is nearly done, I was wondering if a snow plow/blade attachment was available from Ford originally for my tractor? Does anyone have any information if one was available? It would be the second most useful attachment next to my mower deck and post hole digger. If there was one, pics would be great. I"ve seen too many improvised loaders and blades that don"t work well. If I do decide to make one, I want to do it correctly and look like it could have been original equipment. Or maybe I can find an original unit to restore?

This is a factory blade designed to fit the 600- 801- early 4000 series tractors. I have never seen one that fits the 700 or 900 series Fords. Would take a much different mount to attach to tractor.

Thank you Dan. Considering the mounting and the fact that a wide front end is probably more laterally stable when snow plowing, perhaps a rear mounted blade is a better choice. The mounting is the same. Where would I look to find a 3pt mounted blade?

About any farm supply store, or tractor/implement dealer would likely have 3 pt. implements including rear blades. You can buy light duty blades all the way up to heavy duty, and with remote hyd cylinders for control. Prices start in the $200 range. Dan R.

Ford made them for 600s and 800s. I don't know of one made specifically for a 900 series. They attached with a bracket that bolted to the bottom of the trans case and the front loader monunt. I don't think they would work on you tractor because the belly is higher off the ground and the front of the frame is different.

That said I built on that was a copy of the Ford and it was easy to do and worked good. You would need to design a sub frame for the tractor that supported the blade at the correct angle. I encourage you to build your own.
