Thank you guys for all your previous input. Now I am looking for a fuel tank. The 841's had a 14 gallon tank and mine is split. I was thinking about JB Weld, but would perfer to replace the tank. All I can find available are 11 gallon replacements without sending unit hole. Anyone know of a scource for original?

Original fuel tanks are soldered together in reply to NRM, 12-28-2006 07:42:59
The upper and lower halves of the Ford tanks are soldered together. If you weld up any cracks that occur where the mounting brackets are spot welded to the tank you need to watch the heat so that you don't melt the solder.

Toward the front of the tank is a mounting bracket spot welded to the tank. I electric welded this bracket, full lenth, front and rear. to the tank. Then I used a product called Pour 15 Used as directed on the can. It's been four years , so far so good . Actually I did it on 2 tractors (860 & 960) HTH

You must be talking imperial gallons using the 14 and 11 gallon size.

In US gallons the 641 came with a 13 gallon tank and the 841 came with a 17 gallon tank.

It is better to fix your old tank if you can because replacments do not come with the fuel sending hole.

Take it to a radiator shop and they can weld it up with a torch.

Thanks John. And your right, I actually just came from the radiator shop where I left my radiator and they told me they could repair my fuel tank. So there you go. Thanks again.
