I have a 1966 Ford 2000, 3 cyl, gas, 4 speed and transmission PTO. I need to replace the clutch disc, pilot bearing and release bearing (deliberating replacing the cover assy). I don’t think there’s any question about which part to buy for the pilot bearing (C5NN7600A), but I need help with the clutch disc and release bearing. The part numbers I find listed for the release bearing (D8NN7580BB & 500019940) do not match my Parts Manual (787580A8), the dimensions of my bearing do not match those of the D8NN part number and my bearing does not have a grease fitting as I assume the 5000 part number does. Interestingly, the part number on my hub (C5NN7571) indicates that it is for a 6, 7 & 8 speed transmission. The clutch disc is 11 inches with 15 splines and it does not have a torsion damped hub. My Parts Manual lists this disc as P/N E8NN7550BA. My Service Manual indicates that this should be replaced with a torsion damped hub disc with a grooved facing, P/N C7NN-7550-V. This part number is listed at this site, but the Service Manual also indicates (maybe) that because of the additional thickness of the replacement disc, four spacers, P/N C7NN-7C596-A (.07 - .08” shims), must be installed between the cover assy and the flywheel and that longer bolts (1”) will be needed to attach the cover assy to the flywheel. My I&T Shop Manual specifies that the release finger height of the pressure plate assy should be between 1.945 – 1.965” using a new clutch disc and measuring from the friction surface of the flywheel. Would I have to increase this dimension by the thickness of the shims? An alternative to this is to renew with one of two rigid discs (non-torsion damped) listed elsewhere, one of which says it replaces C7NN7550V, or another that says it replaces C7NN750V & E8NN7550BA. I will very much appreciate any guidance that I get with this. Thanks. Bennett.

I'll not get into numbers because I don't have the parts books... but generally, if you call your dealer (NH or otherwise), and tell them you need a clutch disc, pilot, release bearing and PP assembly for a 3000, 4 speed with non live PTO, then chances are good that you're going to get what you need. I wouldn't get hung up on what disc is in the thing now. If it's not dampened, don't worry about it. If it is... don't worry about it. I've seen them come apart with the "wrong" disc in them, right from the factory.... I'd go with a permanently lubed bearing unless you've got the setup for a greasable, which I think only came on the industrials. These parts should be listed by application.
Beyond that, I'd also check a few sources. I've bought reman stuff from Fawcett Tractor (Hy-Capacity), and new from both Ford and Central East Farm Supply. Central Easy in particular carries Borg and Beck clutches for those tractors, which is what you've got now, stamped right beside the blue oval. Sometimes they're less. Sometimes they're more. Gotta check. No doubt this site carries a line of stuff to fit too....

Hmm. Should read some of that closer the first time. If you're worried about the thickness of the dampened disc, then just go with the non dampened. Also bear in mind that some of those pressure palte assemblies are adjustable. I don't know about yours, but some can be adjusted for the thickness of the disc. Dunno. Think I'd order the thing lock stock and barrell from Fawcett or somebody as a kit, and if it's wrong, it's their fault.

Why not just get the whole "kit" with disc, pressure plate, TO bearing and pilot bearing? It is nearly always cheaper than going piece by piece and it will work together. FNH does sell aftermarket as well as genuine FNH (which is actually much better and IMHO worth it).

Does FNH offer a "kit"?
