Hyd's headache! need help on valve for 850

I just checked the parts section here for a dual spool valve that i can run my loader off of on my 850.. I uh.. see about a half dozen units listed that say they fit the 800.. and uh.. am kinda unsure which is whicjh.. especially since the prices range from about 370-970$

Some are 'kits'.. etc.

I guess I just need a valve to bolt under the seat.. and associated hardware.. like bolts.. handles, and any gaskets or o-rings needed.. etc.... I'll deal with getting hoses to go to my cylinders.. etc

Anyone have a clue? as to what valve I need.

Also.. I'll actually only be using 1 spool as DA.. and the other spool (lift) will only be operated SA.. so i need a valve that is capable of being operated that way..

any help is appreciated.

If anyone has a used working one for sale.. I'd at least consider it.

thanks

SoundGuy, the KITS were added to the OEM part numbers to ID the valves plus the extra hoses and T-bars. I hate to admit I was one of the guys that added the KITS to the part numbers. You have two choices Pressure Detent and With Out press detent. The press detent is what Ford installed on all Ford tractors that were ordered with valves. Not a good idea on all tractors. The Pressure Detent has a valve that returns the handle to center once the cylinder is fully extended. The with out Pressure Detent means you must hold the handle to reach the cylinders length. There is about $100 difference in the two valves.
There is another way to do what you want to do. That is install a block in your oil supply line. Simply remove the cover plate under your seat and install a block that has two hose ports. Replace the cover plate. This block taps into the three point hitch oil supply. Plumb this into a loader mounted valve, usually cheaper that the tractor mounted valve. This block is available in both O.R.B. and N.P.T. Just remember the block must flow, do not plug.

Does someone that has a loader that works off a 800 hydraulic pump know how quickly the pump will operate the loader? The reason I say this is because my 861 has lots of pressure, but not enough gpm to operate a log splitter, ( too slow ).

Soundguy,

Ya know, this is one of the rare times where I might say a fella would be better off getting one of those cheater (divirter) plates, and using that to direct the oil to a 2 spool joystick. I'm not up on plumbing those things, but I know that the joysticks are generally of the power beyond type if it's needed. Then you have a "float" spool for the loader. That might be cheaper than going with the OEM type valves, and it's a bit more functional having that joystick mounted somewhere comfortable. Anyhow, that's a thought unless you want to maintain that "original" look. Good luck.

I did consider that. So far i have seen at least one setup that use dthe rear arms chained down, and then fluid diverted to a 'prince' valve, and they ran a hose and tapped the hyd fill bung as a return line from the valve.

I'm sure that is the cheapest way.

I also saw a trip loader that used no spool at all.. just the 3pt control, and again.. chained down arms...

I almost wish i had the trip bucket on theis other setup.. would be way cheaper.

At least one other possibility I have heard was to get a single DA spool valve and run it to a cheap 'prince' valve and do it like the one described above.

I'm sure all those options work.. but.. in the end.. it may be 'cleaner' to just get the under seat valve.. even if it is a couple hundred more $$.

As for the laoder joystick.. that's no biggie... my 660 has the 2 handle spool.. and I get along with it just fine... as long as I remember which lever is which!!

I can say for sure that having the 660 with loader is going to make mounting this loader sooooo much easier..

I could be wrong on this, but you should be able to get one of those plates that allows you to rob the flow before it gets to the hitch control valve. There shouldn't be any need to chain the arms down. I mean, the ports are there. The plate just fits in and performs the same function of diverting flow as the OEM type valves to.... it's just that it's diverting the oil to another valve rather than the OEM type that keeps everything right there. However, in thinking about it, I'm pretty sure that you'd need the power beyond joystick to return the power beyond back to that diverter plate. If I recall the flow diagrams correctly, those plates are plumbed in series, and must then return the oil for the use of the hitch after the loader get's it's oil. Finding the correct plate is the bugger. I'm sure you could tap the plate that's on there now if you wanted to chain the arms down.... Whatcha bet murn knows the very number of the one I'm talking about? HTH.

Here's one option. The TISCO HV5902 plate has three ports: pressure (to valve); power beyond (from PB port on valve - directs oil back to hitch) and return (from valve) Its about $75. Pic shows one on my 4400. It supposed to also fit the hundred series. It's not as clean as the factory setup but I wanted a three spool valve so I can add a grapple on the loader.

Sound, the number you need from this site is E1NNB950BB-KIT. This includes valve, handles and mounting hardware. You would need to fabricate hoses with 9/16 ORB,90 degree fittings. One spool can be da or sa just buy turning a screw.

Thanks again for the number.. I was just in the parts section reading up on it.

I feel a uh.. bit stupid... I can't see what makes that valve different from the more expensive ones ( not that I'm complaining mind you! ).

I assume i remove the flat option cover that is bolted on now, and then that valve bolts up? or ??

Thanks

Yes, just lower the lift, remove 5 bolts and cover, replace with valve w/4 bolts.it also should include all o'rings. Some of the higher priced kits have detent, which you don't want on a loader and others have hoses couplers and bracket. Others, as listed in my Tisco book at work have the adapter plate that goes under your acc cover and directs fluid to a fender mount valve, very unhandy. I sympathize with you on your sinus, that cold NW wind yesterday has made me a zombie, but i am sure I have given you the right info.

This is the 2 spool valve that I had on an 861. Not sure but I believe it could operate a SA cyl. Very hard to come by though. Dan Robertson

Thanks for the ideas.

I know a guy that may have that very valve for sale.

Now i need to decide whether I want new or used.

thanks
