I want to dissassemble the PTO shaft for my 55 960. It had one large snapring for the OD of the bearing. That was no problem to remove. There is also a snap ring on the shaft for the ID of the bearing/hub. It does not have holes for snap ring plier. It just has two beveled ends towards the ID. It is also slightly recessed in the hub. Are there special pliers made for removeing this type of snap ring? I have been looking in the Snap-On catalog but no luck.

Have not worked on that part, but have worked with those type of snap rings. 2 screwdrivers seemed to be the specialty tools everyone uses?

No, Screwdrivers won"t work. Too stiff a snap ring and no grip surface. They are reversed beveled.
I"m going to take the Cornwell page with me to the snap-on guy and see if he has the right set,
Thanks all, Brad
