i have 13 tractors currently.. near san antonio.. whatca looking for?? 1. dont buy a tractor for more than you can turn around and sell if for next week... 2. make sure to start it cold if its a diesel... put your hand on the engine before to see if its been started before you got there... 3. drive it through every gear and operate all the controls... if possible put it under plow or shredder... dont worry about bad tires or bad paint or dents.. however if the tractor was totally beat to a pulp... pass it up... if it was used in a material yard or grass farm,, pass it up... these tractors have EVERYTHING worn out and will cost you about 3000 in repairs... the steering, the trans, the engine, the rear end, the hydraulics are all bad... bad paint is preferred because they cant hide much... fresh paint can hide a lot so look it over even more carefully... remember that hour meters usually quit,, and can be replaced so they dont mean as much as the condition of the tractor.. fords have the most availibilty of aftermarket parts.. so you can do a lot for less... but dont worry about looks vrs condition...i ahave bought many butt-ugly tractors that were in near perfect mechanical condition... and a "spray-can" (DUPONT)overhaul is cheap if everthing else is good. remember the paint and decals are easyt to fake
