I have a Ford 7000 now for about 6 years and like it a lot. It's row crop configured but has a Dunham loader that works great on a remote cylinder. I move alot of heavy things without trouble. Just wondered why I NEVER hear anyone discussing this model? Was this rare or bad model?

We have had a 7000 row crop for the last 15 years. The only truble we had with it was water pumps, and tach's. It is a good tractor and has about 7500 hrs. We also have a 3000, 8000 turbo and a TL 90A. They are all good tractors

Grew up on a small grain/hog farm, we had a 2000, 7000 and an 8700....great tractors, but I loved working ground with the 7000 best. Seems the only major thing we did to it was replace the water pump every couple of years. It would pull most anything the 8700 would, with a few exceptions. We had a sale some years back, and everyone talked me out of keeping the 7000 in favor of the 2000 gas unit....biggest mistake I ever made. Many a day have gone by that I wish I had that tractor back. I can still hear her start up and smell the exhaust fumes!!!!

My dad bought his new in 1975. That was always his tractor. My brother and I always ran the two 8000. Dad is retired now but still has the tractor. It has over 8000 hours on it, and the only thing we ever had to do to it was replace a rocker arm, it had a flaw and broke.

We have a 7000 row crop on the dairy farm that I work here in se. MN. We use it in the summer for picking up round bales in the field with a front end loader and then feeding them back out in the winter. We do about 1200 bales a year. The tac. doesn't work but we put 2-3 hours ever day on the tractor from dec thru may until the cows go back out on pasture in the spring plus the hours in the summer. I have worked here for 7 years and we fixed the dual power and the clutch 5 years ago. We replaced the clutch again last summer. The dealer said that is not bad for a loader tractor with as much as we do with it.We also have a 5000 with selct-a-speed and a 9600 Ford.

7000's just aren't all that common. Only made from '72 to '75. Replaced by the 7600 all-purpose and row crop models. (7700 replaced the 7600r.c. in '77) My grandfather bought a r.c. 7000 in '75 when his Commander 6000's trans went bad. He didn't like sitting up so high, or the long wheelbase, so it was shortly traded for a 7000 a.p. - that I still have. Has 3900 hours on an overhaul due to cylinder wall cavitation, and something like 12000-13000 hours total. Reliable, efficient, handy. Mine has the Dual Power transmission and 18.4x34 rears(so does my 7600), while my uncle Kelly's has a straight 8-speed and 16.9x38's. What does your have?

Mine has the 8-speed.I bought it used(second owner) from a ford dealer. He got it from a local farm in Prince George(Tobacco growers in sandy soil). But it has been mostly used as a loader. Thanks

I remember using a 7000 General Purpose with cab for a few days back in the early 80's when my 6000 was in the shop during spring work. Good power and fuel economy. Almost bought a 7000 row crop at a farm auction in the late 80's, I think it ended up selling for about $7000, with low hours. Seems to me they did not make them very long, maybe 1972 until the 7700's came out. Also, in my area, not many around as most farmers were buying 90 HP and larger new tractors by the early 70's.

The 7000 was pretty much an updated 5000... Big hp. probably not a whole lot of users with them.. but i am sure there are a few. i've seen posts here for people with 76XX and 66XX series often. ( I own a 7610s myself ).

As much as i love my 5000.. i think the 7000 would be 'that much and more'.. etc.

post some pics of that bad boy.
