Now before anyone says anything..... I know the colors are wrong for a 4000. I just like the scheme of the 801 series. As Dell says paint it however you want!! I thought everyone might like to see how it's going it has been a while since the last picture was posted. Sunday is wheels and new tires. Then all that's left is the loader.

 I have a '62 LCG 4000 in reply to Dave H (NY), 03-24-2007 14:02:52
If you could post some front Pic's. I've got some sheet metal attaching issues on mine. The dog legs on the lower attachments don't seem to line up right on the front frame side bolt holes. And then there's that lower front panel I'm not sure how that's attached. My front end was kinda bent in and after I straightened stuff out none of the bolts holes seem to line up to anything and I don't know where was the originally assembled holes to where on the frame supports. Parts books are kinda vague on this. bjr

John brings up a point.. Post your model ID number..

You may be closer than you think on color scheme.

It is a 4030 or atleast it was!!! I added the hydraulics while it was all apart. The serial number starts with 158,000 so it is a 1962.

The fact that you call this a 4000; it has a 801 grill; and power steering; and a SOS right fender makes me think this is a 59 to 62 4000 industrial.

If so the red is the correct color.
The grey is all that is wrong. It should be Buff (Yellow) like the rims are.

Nice looking restoration no matter what color it is.

I like the 801 color scheme. I have a 4000 hood that looks just like the one on your tractor. I plan to put it on my 851.

Dave:

Aside from the paint, the hood is from a 871 or 881.

Why not put 841 decals on it and call it an 841. Only you will be the wiser.

The resotration is looking good.
