'64 841 needs lift adjustment, hopefully. Draft Control yoke can't be rotated by hand and lift does not come up all the way. I have loosened all the bolts, I feel are associated with the lift cover. I cannot budge it from it's mount. How much does this with all the linkage and pump weigh? Can anybody tell me if I have all the bolts removed. I see the pump cover is bolted to the lift cover. The bolts around the pump cover confuse me as to what there purpose is. Does that need to be removed first? The IT manual does a good job of explaining how to do the adjustments but I can't seem to get that far. Not sure where or if I should do any prying. Any help would be appreciated.

Allan -

I'm told that an 840 is similar to the older 640. I just did this same job last weekend on my 640. The bolts you need to remove are around the outside (as I recall, there were around 10).
You want to leave the 3 inner bolts alone (one is also hidden by a plate) since they go to the hydraulic cylinder/piston assembly and have fine threads rather than course like the outer bolts.

After I unbolted the outside bolts, I just laid a shortened 2x4 under the left-side lift arm (viewing from the rear of the tractor) and onto the differential and gave it decent downward shove (couldn't get it to budge when I tried it on the right-side... for whatever reason).

Anyway... I figure it weighs somewhere in the hundred pound range with everything still attached.

Hope this helps.
