Our Ford 9700 has a cracked fuel line leading out from the cylinders to the pump. It happened while I was disking. It's pulling 200rpms less than it should be. Anyone know what causes this? We had the same problem last year and replaced the fuel pump. Any suggestions?

We used to have an 8700, same thing as the 9700 but no blower. We would have that problem every couple thousand hours. You most likely have plugged injectors. Still have a box of old injectors out in the barn, but the tractor is long gone. Eventually a line would spring a leak due to the increased pressure. If they didn't replace the injectors last time, I would pull them out and have them checked...actually, pull them and have them checked regardless.

You don't, you buy new ones. I don't recall anyway to unplug them. If memory serves me correctly, you are talking about extremely small holes in the ends of the injectors through which the fuel is being pushed through at high pressure, creating a vaporized air/fuel mixture. Once the holes are plugged, I don't believe there is a way to adequately clear them. If you want to know for sure, pull them all and take them to a shop to have them checked. That said,, I'd also look to replace the filter(s) as well.

The injectors can be sent to a diesel injection shop. They can check them and rebuild them if necessary. That's apt to be a lot cheaper than buying new from NH if you've got a few days to send them out and wait to get them back...

you mean an injector pipe? Shouldn"t be running an engine too long like that. Had those injectors tested lately? Are your injector pipes clamped together at appropriate places to prevent vibration causing fracture?

We finished disking then we took it home it was only 1mile away so we didn't drive it much after that.Yes that is what I mean. Last year we had the NH dealership fix it but they must have done a half assed job.
