I was shredding the side of my tank this afternoon and everything seemed just fine. I went to use my loader and it seems to shudder but worked ok and today I moved some large round bales and the 3pt did not seem as strong it usually is but it did work and I was able to move the bales - I didn't notice the shudder on the 3pt but it is easy to see on the loader. The hyd. work off of the engine pump but for what I do it is OK.

Any ideas??

Yes - the loader is plumbed off the lift cover. I did suspect air but haven't noticed any leaks. I also haven't checked the hydraulic level but will do so today. I was thinking maybe because I was shredding the tank (on a tilt) that maybe I sucked some air? Does that make any sense? Debris could also be an issue but I don't know how to check that - after a little work, I'll let you know.

if the fluid level is low.. it will overheat after a long used..then it will cavitate more than normal... if the hydralics are plumbed incorrectly for the loader, this can cause the pump and hyraulics to over heat.

thinking about this some more....This could also be caused by a valve or a relief valve not staying seated. A valve (sometimes referred to as a poppet) could have debris causing it to stick. Sometimes a spring that holds the valve inplace is weak or broken. I your system is plumbed through the lift cover and related parts, there could be debris or damage to the various valves that are inside the center section. I am not an expert on the mechinisims (sp?) inside there. I did rebuild mine. Had it adjusted at the dealer prior to assembly. my 'check valve' is damaged. While nothing is shuttering the valve is very expensive. I can live with it. On my other tractor my loader is plumbed through another pump, mounted on the front of the engine crankshaft. If I feather the valve I can get it to shutter a little.

Q). Has this tractor been sitting awhile?...sl

Best.. I am suspecting air (suction) leaks. like blowing an "O" ring. have you noticed any new hyd fluid leaks? how about the loader valves. I am supposing that the loader is plumbed through the remote valves in front of the seat? and driven off of the same pump that serves the 3 point?
