How do I remove hydraulic tube?

I have a leaky pressure line on a 641 and now that I am armed with instructions on creating a new tube, I need to extract the old tube...

I split the tractor (which turned out to be VERY easy, 20-25 minutes without help)

but now I can't seem to get the line to budge. Does anyone have any ideas?

I think I covered that in an earlier post but here's some photos that might help.

I tried this technique..

what did you hammer it lightly with... a 50 lb sledge?

I used a punch and tapped lightly with a hammer

then not so lightly and still no movement. used a piece of awl thread and a small socket on the rear and a large one in front broke the awl thread twice..

here is a photo to illustrate.

I use a good flat ended steel driver that just fits the hole and 12 ounce ball peen hammer. I've removed at least a half dozen of those tubes and none were hard to drive out. All-thread is soft and your tube appears to be mushrooming on the end. It may be wedging tighter in the hole rather than pushing out. Try a hard steel rod about .480" diameter for a driver/punch.

ill get a punch that is .480 exactly.. the one I had closest to it had some wiggle room. and that is probably why my tube mushroomed inwards

you told me the tube is 26.5 inches of .500 steel tubing.

and the front inch is flared and then turned to to .505 and the back inch is turned down to .485

do you recall the point where to turn it to .495 for one inch (ie x inches from the back). i need to get my tube out intact to measure this distance.. if you can tell me what that is.. I should be able to be a little more agressive in removing the tube.
