We just purchased a 1966 Ford 4500 tractor with backhoe and shovel. We cleared about an acre of land in 8 hours and then the tractor would no longer go into forward or reverse gears. What would cause this?

It turns out the transmission was bone dry. We put transmission oil in it and it ran. The radiator had a hole in it and it was the problem. We purchased a new radiator for $300.
