I have "Dennis Carpenter's Ford Parts" catalog, but this is only for models up to '64. Is there one more specific to a '68 3400 3cyl Diesel? There aren't many things available on ytmag for '68 and not for the 3400's, yes I know the 3000's are the same, but then we have the age issue again...

Try your NH dealer yet? in reply to Katharine, 07-16-2007 18:09:00
Here's a link to the on-line parts catalogs.

Hit "Search for Parts".

Thanks, yes, but was looking for after-market as the dealer is a fortune on most things I've noticed.

I think you'll find the dealers are mostly competitive on parts that are readily available in the aftermarket. Not always, but more often than not. If they're way more, then there's often a quality descrepancy with the aftermarket stuff.
On dealer only parts, you will pay...
I find it helps to find a good dealer. Most also carry a line of aftermarket stuff, and are generally fairly knowledgable about what they're selling.... They can often source stuff either OEM or aftermarket, or tell you the difference between them. That can be worth a fortune sometimes.

WELL.... in reply to Katharine, 07-16-2007 18:33:20
Nowadays, it seems "if you're gonna PLAY, you're gonna PAY!"

Sad, but TRUE!

I have found most NH parts to be pay me now or pay me later.
I have more than once bought a aftermarket part to find it does not work as well and had to fork out the extra for the NH part anyway.
