I bought a used tractor 3 weeks ago. When I bush hog the field, the cutter swings all over the place and makes it difficult to cut straight rows. My old late 50’s Case had a metal bar that attached to the axle and then to the end of the lift bar. It looks homemade but kept the cutter in a straight line. There is a Cat I pin on the axle. What can I buy that will hook up to it?
The tractor is a Ford 3910 from 1986

RodinNS,
Do you think that Sparex would fit on this?

What do you mean by the geometry?

Where would it attach on the lift bars?

I think there's a way to make it work. It's just a matter of how much work you want to do. To me the geometry is just the angles that the hitch works at and the stabilizers attach at.
I'll take some measurements on the arms of one here and you can compare. On some you can just take the sway chains off and bolt the stabilizer on in those holes, but I don't think it will work here. What I think you would need to do is drill the arms at the correct distance from the attachment pin on the axle housing.
The brackets under the rollbar are the other attachment point. I think they'll work but you may need to torch some metal off to make them fit correctly. If not, then yoo'd have to buy the correct brackets and change them.... Torch is easier and cheaper.
I'll post some dimensions later on today.

The 3910 would have normally used the flat bar/ba$tard stabilizers. I hate them.
Mine all have the heavy arms so I use the square telescopic stabilizers. I think they could be fitted to your tractor. It would be worth measuring yours and any 3 cylinder 10 series with the heavy arms and interchangable ends.... Check to see if the geometry is the same for the stabilizer mounts. IT probably is... but check. If so, you can get a set of the telescopic type aftermarket through Sparex, or new from NH. They aren't cheap, but worth every penny in my opinion.

I use the flat strap stablizers on my Fords. Check the New Holland website for numbers. They are cheaper than the chains and the adjustable sway bars.

Where can I buy the screw-adjust 'rigid' stabilizer bars?

I don'y know why the pic posting does not work here. It works fine in the practice forum.
