While it has been a couple of years I bought a 5000 8 speed diesel with nice loader and paid roughly $8500 for it (cannot recall the exact numbers). As I said the loader was in like new cond. and was a Ford 7210. The tractor itself is an older model (probably around 65 or 66 vintage) and probably would not have bought it had I took a little more time looking at it closer. The tractor had been obviously used heavily on a loader (probably a different one than what is with it now). After I bought it I found that the steering was loose, bolster had been cracked and welded, my injector pump leaks, fenders are pretty rusty, and leaks power steering oil fairly heavily. With all that said I check the injector oil often, steering oil, I replaced the pivot pin and busing, and just use it. It is a work horse and pulls everything I put behind it and never complains unless I try to fire it below freezing without the engine heater plugged in. I really like the tractor, but really wish I had a little newer version that had not been abused quite as much. Burns very little fuel for the output. While I have not had one personally I have talked to several who have tractors that use a lot more fuel with similar HP. I have mostly use it to bale hay - both square and 5x5 rounds. The guy I bought it from was using it to rake. I use an 8N for raking. Hope that helps, and I really do not know what the loader would be worth.

Year range was 65 to 75.. could be narrow or wide front, or row crop, and gas or diesel. Could have 8spd tranny ( good solid ford tranny ).. or 10 spd SOS tranny ( if it works, great.. if not.. could be a 2000$repair.. or could be a 25cent part..mighttake 2000$ to find out is a 25 cent part.. (wink ))

I see them from time to time.. mostly 8sp diesels and they go anywhere from 4000 to 8000 dollars, depending on condition.. with about 6k$ being the average for a good runner 'ready' for work.

They are a stout machine.. ,perhaps, the best design ford came up with during that time period.

Around 70 flywheel hp, and 67 at the pto , 60 or so at the drawbar.. ( 8spd tranny / later model)..

I have one and pull a 10' 3pt mower with it.

third party image

It's made by 'Howse' and is one of their heavy duty mowers.

That wave a 10' drag type as well as the 10' 3pt.

Mine is the 3pt.. weighs.. perhaps 2400# I guess.

twin spindle, 2 tailwheels, turnbuckle adjustment.. has 2 blade gearboxes, and a power divider gearbox.. uses a slip clutch, and the drivline between the gear boxes also uses a flexible coupling. the toplink connection is slotted to give some play for hills and ditches..

it is of course.. setup for CAT 2 pins and spacing, and is for 540 pto rpm.

My 5000 handles it like a champ.. though I do have 340# of front weight on her.. could probably use another 100# too if I had more hills and not just flat land.

here's a pic of my 5000 with the 10' mower right next to my 15' mower hooked to a much newer Nh 7610s.
