I need to replace the seal on my pto shaft. the manual says to remove 4 retainer bolts and withdraw the output shaft, bearing and retainer assembly. The shaft will not slide out as the manual said it should. Has anyone encountered this with the 2000? Did the manual leave out something or maybe there was a change in this model. Thanks. Ken from Georgia

I've tried repeatedly to remove this pto shaft without success. I'm thinking damage has occurred somehow to the splines where it connects inside of the housing.

As murn said.

also.. I've found a large philips screwdriver dropped into the pto shaft hole makes for a great place to tug on it with both hands when trying to get it to turn loose.. etc..

Ken,engage your pto and apply a little leverage with a couple bars, should slide right out.
