Never seen one of these before. Cute little tractor. Probably had less than 12 inches ground clearence. Someone said LCG stands for Low Center of Gravity. Is this correct? Also is the color the correct color? Thanks for looking, Fred

I have one also. They came stock with 24" rears and was most likely rear 'dualed' also. The front spindles are REALLY short. I traded my short spindles for a long set because the tractor has 28" rubber and a forklift mast on the back. I didn't like the look of the 'jacked up' rear stance.

The color and decals ARE correct. Considered an 'Industrial' tractor instead of 'Ag'.

I have a 1963-64 LCG 2000. I need to find steering drag link bars & tyrod ends. Are the parts the same from an AG 2000 to an LCG?

I have a 4000 LCG in reply to Fred Van Hook, 08-07-2007 15:57:15
My tractor is a 4000LCG and it's got 12.4X24 tires on the rear and 6.00X16 fronts, so Low Center of Gravity. I've got the tread width set to the narrowest setting I can till with a 58" tiller and cover the tire tracks. I do tilling a bunch of FOF's (Fussy Ol' Farts) and they like no tire tracks left in there garden beds. My tractor is a Select-o-Speed and 1st gear is really low and I like that for tilling. I think the LGC's are good garden tractors, maybe not good for pulling baler's or the such. My paint is Yellow with Blue drive train. bjr

That is an obscure looking 2000, can't say I ever saw one like it, but as you mentioned your 4000 LCG, when I was a kid, we had a '64 4000 for many years, came from the NYS Thruway authority, was an S-0-S and my father had told me it was also an LCG model, which would make sense knowing that is was used to mow along the highway. Just going from memory, it did not appear much different, like later LCG models, ex. 2110, 4110, which really look the part of an LCG. We had a ford dealership for about 10 years, but after they went to the thousand series '65 and up, so I do remember some of the later ones new on the lot and or for delivery, I have always wondered what the deal was with LCG's prior to '65, like that model shown. I have seen the ones with dual rear wheels before. Our '64 had yellow fenders, the rest was blue, but was probably incorrect at that time. Incidentally, we used to cut rake and bale with that tractor, + many other tasks, it performed well for many years, pulled a 532 ford baler with kicker and wagon, surprisingly it did fine, I spent a lot of time mowing with a 5'-0" rotary mower, that independent pto and power steering sure was nice to have on that tractor.
