I need to replace my fuel tank on my 65 4000 3 cyl. Is there a differance between the gas and desiel tanks.I have a part number #C5NN9002AC. Want to order but I've been disapointed to many times with wrong parts. Harry

Harry, not sure about the 4000's but my Dad has a 66 5000 gas and a 65 5000 desiel and I think the only difference is the gas does not have a return line up by the filler cap that the desiel has for the excess fuel from the injector pump to return to the tank. Good luck and I am sure someone will be along shortly to give you some more info for sure. Greg NE

Yes. The only difference is a flow over from the injector pump for the thermo-start on a diesel back into the tank at the filler cap. If it has that, and you have gas, all you have to do is cap that fitting off with rubber hose. My $.02
