there has been no problems with the starting of this tractor it still has the six volt system in it I have noticed the last couple of late evening starts in the barn there has been sparks coming from the area under the battery tray. any-one have a starting point. Thanks everyone Jeff

Charles' post was good. Usually when I have something similar it's the connection of the ground cable to the tractor.

Sounds like a cable shorted or rubbed thru to ground, or a loose or real bad ground. I found the hot (-) cable on my NAA swolen up due to corrosion inside, the insulation cracked open and almost rubbing on everything it passed by. Potential for a midnite fire in the workshop was scary. Personally I'd disconnect the battery ground at the battery till you get it fixed if you value your barn.
