numbers are not on a plate. they are stamped into the casting on the bell housing behind the starter and under the air cleaner as Tony said.

Hello Russ , Going by what you posted you appear to have a 1954 - 1957 Ford 600 series tractor , model 650 or 660 with the 5 speed trans. The model number and serial number are stamped on the transmission right where the starter bolts in just under the air cleaner . As your reference to HYDROS these tractors do not have any hydros on them ? The rear axle center housing is also a newer replacement . Thanks Tony

Alrighty.. thanks for all the help. I took a wire brush to the plate where the numbers should be stamped, but to no avail. I polished it up to nice shine.. I dont have any chalk, but ill try some graphite.

We also found the hood ornament(?) it says Ford Industrial.

As for the hydros, a small pump on the right side of the block with some lines coming off it? I guess I dunno what it is, but it had a number stamped in it, and gol'darnit, i was gunna report it. Also, keep in mind that I am tractor-retarded, but I hope to remedy the ailment.

thanks,
russ

John in LA who is an active participant on this site is starting a Ford tractor info website. It's still a work in progress, but what he has so far may help you figure out what you have. The link is below.

You could also check the tractor photos under the Galleries heading on this site (see column of links to the left). Type in Ford in the search box and start clicking on photos until you see something that looks like yours.

All I can tell you is that EAE6015 indicates a 134 engine so it should be a 600/601 series tractor or early 2000 industrial.
What you need is the model and serial numbers. They are stamped on a flat boss aft of the starter. They're stamped by hand, very lightly, but they're there. Get a paint scraper, wire brush and some chalk... There will be a serial number with a diamond before and after and a 3 numeral model number above it.
