I have an LGT 18H that I bought new in 1990. None of the manuals tell me what type of fluid is used in the hydrostatic drive.

I can send copies of the owner's manual and other manuals to people who need them.

Thanks

I don't know what was specifically called for in that hydro, but generally speaking.... 134D or it's equivelant is sufficient in most any hydraulic system. NewHolland uses some different or odd fluids in some machines from the factory, has even odder giberish numbers to describe them, and so on. 134D is a high quality, multipurpose fluid that is compatiable with most hydraulic systems. That's what i'd use, or it's equivelant TDH...

From 1984-1991 the LGT models used SAE20 engine oil in the transmission/rear axle housing.

Call your local CNH dealer.. I'd be surprised if it was anything other than UTF fluid ( m2c134d ).. etc. My 2nd guess would be ATF...
