I really need help figuring out the year and model number of my new treasure. What I think I know so far is it might be a 63-65, I think it used to say heavy duty on the arms that attcah to the loader it has two headlights really close in the front and says ford vertically between them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
Bobby

I am having a hard time finding a picture of an old ford backhoe they all seem to only have a front bucket. Some more info that might help you help me. The steering on the backhoe is a little different there is a cable that runs on the left side of the tractor into a worm gear on the end of the steering shaft not sure how long this was used or on what but it might help. Also I think the serial number is 53934 can you help decode? All of your help is greatly appreciated.

Sharp eyes!

It was just rolled out for pictures and engine starting.

That was last year. It's a bit dirtier now....

It sounds like you have a early 60's 2000 or 4000.
Scroll down on the link to the Hundred series tractors and you will find your ID numbers in the same location.

Thanks for the info however I am having a hard time decoding maybe you can help. I believe the correct serial number is 53934 which is between the 2 diamonds and there is 1841 above that and these are on the trans case on the left side.

I believe it goes like this: 1-8-4-1 -the first "1" means industrial, the 8 means 800 series with 172 cu 4 cyl engine, the 4 means 4 speed with no live PTO, the last 1 means it was built between 59 and 62. I have serial numbers out in the shop, but thats a long dark walk right now. If you would like, I can check tomorrow-- Keep-em-runnin! -Doug

thanks for the help JD wrote back and says I have a 1958 1841 industrial hd hopefully that makes it easier to order parts. Also do you think the repair manual for $59 I found through the sight is worth it or do you know of a good place to get a repair manual. Right now the trans is in pieces as I am replacing all the bearings. Also if you know the factory color that would be sweet. Thanks,
Bobby

1958 Ford Model 1841 HD industrial based on the SN 53934.

The hoe would be a 713 and the loader is model 712.

Forgot to add that the backhoe has a 4 cylinder gas motor and is a 6 volt system.
