Does anyone know if I need to split the case to replace the rear axle oil seal?

I have a Ford 3910 86’. I have the shop manual but it’s a bit hard to understand the exploded view and seal replacement is not addressed in it.

It leaks about a quart a month. I don’t mind keeping it topped off if the leak is not causing any other problems to the tractor. Please let me know if it is.

Thanks Rod,

Yes it is on the left side. Looks like I will have to take it to a shop for repair. I don't have lifting equipment or large enough tools.

Would any damage happen if I put the repair off for a year? I would keep a close check on the oil level.

Not as long as you keep oil in there. Environmental.... Leaking oil all over would be the only potential damage.....

Yes, the axle housing must be removed, the brakes and reduction gears removed from the housing, and then the shaft removed. Change the axle seal and the brake rod seal while you're at it.
It's not a huge job, but fighting the roll bars off will add some excitement to the deal and you'll need a loader or cherry picker to lift the axle housing because it's several hundred pounds... If it's the left hand side you'll have the added joy of dealing with the crown wheel falling out at you as you remove the housing. Use caution.
