Our 8n sat for a bit, and when i went to get it running it doesn't get fuel to the cylinders. I rebuilt the carb and have fuel to the carb. The air is not picking up the fuel as it enters the engine. After cranking the engine over, any fuel pulled through the jets just drains out of the carb inlet, it nevers makes it to the engine. If you put your hand over the carb as you crank it just about sucks your skin off, I don't get it. I also checked the valves, and they seem to all be moving freely. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to let you know everything i do. Thanks for any help

You might as well pull the plugs, put in some new ones,or clean the old ones, drain out the old gas,put in some new,and if you have fire,it ought to run.

Check compression , also gas running out the air inlet to carb could indicate flooded engine and/or incorrectt float level or sticking float needle valve. If the tractor has sat a whlle maybe your gas has gone bad. I find that gas nowadays goes bad alot faster than it used to, especially in hot weather . Also check for spark. If you dont have a good hot spark at cranking old gas gone bad will do you in every time.Sometimes jmping with a 12V system can help here, rememberr the 8n should be a + ground.Hope ths helps.

How is the manifold and the manifold gasket? Check these things out too. Are you sure it isn't making it to the cylinders?
