I just acquired a Ford "641" 4 speed (not an SOS), tractor and everything seems to work great. I plan to restore it in my spare time. Anyway, under the seat, is a lever about 4" long that can be moved up towards the driver and down towards the front of the tractor. The Ford shop manual, in the exploded view of the hydraulic lift cover, calls it a "Selector Lever" but doesn"t say what it"s for. Can anybody tell me what it does? Thanks

Thanks alot everybody for your help I'll try it out today. I was wrong though, it moves from pointing towards the radiator or front of the tractor; to straight down towards the ground....of coarse, not being a farm raised person I don't know what "draft" is!!!!
Thanks again for your response.

Does it look like it rotates from the 12 o'clock position to the 3 o'clock position. if so it is for the draft control. adjust depth with position control (lever with knob on the end of it) then move draft lever to the 3 o'clock position, and implement maintains constand draft. 3 pt will not work with lever foreward (I think). To lift implement rotate little lever to the 12 o'clock position and lift as normal.
hope this helps
Brian

Wel if its one the right hand side then its a draft/position control for the 3 point. For most stuff you will want it in position but for stuff like a plow you want it in draft. And since its a 641 the 4 in the model number tell you it has a 4 speed tranny. If it had a 7 or 8 there it would be an SOS and if it had a 5 or 6 there it would have a 5 speed
