Jeff
Send me an email and maybe I can help you find some parts. We have restored a 541, a 541 HiCrop and are in the process of a 2000 offset diesel and have restored about 20 others.
My email is ford900puller@yahoo.com

Just food for thought.

One came up in the local paper. $2500. Looked in great shape by the picture Couldn't get there quick enough. And I didn't, another guy got it.

Got to look at it while the other guy was loading it. Was way better in person. Tires bad from sitting for a few years. Appeared to be original paint.

I think you might make a few bucks when you get it done. Or you may find you like it and hang on it it.

Post some pictures if you can. They are a nice looking tractor.

Rick

You have to shop around per part. You may find some parts aftermarket or even at Ford N.H.
Other parts are no longer available so you will have to find them used.
Then we will need to know if you really mean RESTORE as in make show room condition or just fix up to a good running condition. In other words would aftermarket parts suit your needs.

This is going to take time. The 501 is the rarest of all the hundred series in my mind. This is why they bring a premium price when sold. Finding some of the parts that are n.l.a. may be a chalange depending on what you need.

What type of parts are you looking for? There are numerous suppliers you can find on the net by doing a search for "Ford Tractor Parts". This site carries many parts. (see the "Parts" tab above) You can find some on ebay. Tractor salvage yards are a good source too. Sheet metal will be the toughest to find as the after market sheet metal parts are limited.

Im looking to get it restored to showroom condition or at least the best I can do :)

The tractor is in great shape..well kept...no rust at all, runs great to! Im in process of putting some new parts for the engine now just to do it, to update the parts.

I need things like lights, decals/emblem, steering wheel, seat, gauges, exhaust parts...etc

Really wish I knew how much I could get for it now in this condition...I also have three ford pieces of equipment for it too, that will go with it!

It sounds to me like you'd rather sell it than restore it. in reply to Jeff Goard, 11-05-2007 06:27:15
Why don"t you post an ad in the Photo Ads section of this website or are you fishing for someone to e-mail you an offer?

Here comes the wet blanket. I get the sense you are really looking to get some money and don't really care about the machine at all. A restoration is a big commitment in time and money. Rarely do you recoup the investment when time is figured in. If you do a quick rattle can reshoot and put it on Ebay shiney and wet your profit potential is greatest. If you just clean it up, post some good pictures and list it honestly on Ebay, you will have no risk, little investment, and the buyer can leave it original, restore it correctly, or paint it up and enjoy it.

First of all RICK! You are totally wrong about me not caring about the Tractor. This was the last thing my dad gave me before he passed away in June. And I want to restore it, in honor of him. No I dont know alot about doing it or the tractor. But I am trying get an idea of what it is worth, and what would be involved in restoring it. I do have a mom who is struggling to make ends meet, after my dad passing..with a new roof and heating and air being installed. So, if you dont know me and my situation, do not judge me buddy!!

My heart is in doing this restore...but I also like to know what I can get now for it...just curious!
