There is a valve someone has installed on my naa, looks like the kind you would see on a water spigot, attached to the bottom right of the transmission case under the right foot rest. My 3point lift was not lifting and i opened it and air and fluid gushed out of it and after closing it it worked again. this time when it would not lift, opening it does nothing. What is the valve for and how should it be used?

Is the valve screwed into the drain plug hole? Does oil come out when it's opened? Is it under the tranny or the hydraulic reservoir? Is the oil level correct? Off hand it sounds like somebody installed the valve to facillitate draining water off the oil. For safety's sake, I hope it's not screwed into a high pressure line. Ordinarily, water valves are not made to handle 2000 psi. Give us all the info you can and maybe we can figure this one out.

the "funny" valve is an air type valve, no water present, just oil comes out, attached on right side, just under the foot rest, in a hole that could have had a 1/2 pipe thread plug in it, just to the rear of the flange where the tranny and hydraulc units mate up. I have seen this setup on another naa. Gotta be some type of bleeder but I dont know when and how it should be used. If I do change out the fluit oil, what should I replace it with? would TSC have something?

You mean a ball valve? like with a handle instead of a knob? If so you are a lot safer if it's a decent quality. Old has it right about the test port etc. TSC has what you need. Tell them its for an old Ford. You can also get it at Sam's Club for about $30. Just be sure the bucket says it meets Ford spec 134. Use 90 wt gear oil in the tranny and diff.

That valve probably hooks up to the test port and is a way to tap into the hyds on your tractor. It was a quick/cheap way to get external hyds but only worked if the lift arms where tied down in some way. You said you got air and water out so the first thing you need to do is drain your fluid and replace it becasue water and hyds don't work well plus its very hard on the pump. After you replace the fluid you may need to prime the hyd pump also

I would have to look in my books to see for sure where the test port is but I know there is one in that area. On my 841 I tried tapping into it one time but I found it to be a total waste of time to do so for what I wanted to do that is

Old, This isn't helping Beefer much but I checked the parts manual and there is a pressure port on the NAA and Hundred series. Same location Just different sizes. 100 series is 3/8" NPT and NAA is 1/2" NPT.
