Stand beside the engine.. look at the oil filter in your hand.. match that up to something that looks like it sticking out of the side of the engine, or hanging down from a protrusion of the engine. Make a mental note of it's location. Now.. look for a removable cap with an oil drop symbol.. might be a breather inthe crankcase.. or a cap on a valve cover.. etc. that's where you add oil. Now.. locate the oil pan under the crankcase.. look for a drain plug.. Pop the fill cap, put a buctet under the drain plug and let her drain.. run the old oil filter off. I like to pour a half quart of oil in my new fitler, and then rub some of the new oil around the gasket to help it seat. Take a clean rag and wipe down the oil fitler mating surface. Install the new filter and drain plug.. add oil till dipstick shows full. Start tractor.. observe oil gauge / lamp to make sure it goes out within a few seconds.. if that looks good, let it run 30 seconds and look for leaks at the plug and filter. If good, shut down.. let set for a couple minutes.. recheck oil level... add if necescary. I don't have a 1900.. so can't help you with the hyd or other sumps.. but you need to find out if it is a common sump or seperate sump machine and then drain/fill accordingly. Make sure you are using a good diesel rated oil.. like a CI-4 and perhaps a 15w40.. etc. No 'S' rated oils.. in diesels.. Your old diesel oil will be as dark as coal.. don't worry.. that's normal sooting.. your new oil will likely turn that black real fast too.. Oh yeah.. and get a manual whan you can! Soundguy
